Also, today we purchased some patio furniture so we can start using our rooftop terrace more frequently.

We were on an adventure in Zürich, but now we're back in the U.S. and slowly adjusting.

Get the fans sooner rather than later.
The Swiss have a differnet idea about inventory than Americans. The stores order a set amount of fans every year and put them out for sale in the Spring. Once they run out of them, that is it for the year. No more fans for the year.
By the way, I strongly recommend the metal Honeywell fans. They are more expensive, but they generate a lot of wind and they continue working year after year.
The European brands tend to be plastic and the motors give out half way through the summer. Plus, even when they are working they do not generate as much breeze. Because obviously a breeze is extremely unhealthy for you...
Thanks for the tip. I think I will go first thing tomorrow. I've stopped grocery shopping on Mondays because I'm not too impressed by the state of perishables.
This afternoon we stopped by the Starbucks near Central and it was quite warm inside. I don't think we will be visiting a lot of indoor places this summer.
We were pleasantly surprised that our bus home had air conditioning!
Well- well we had tornadoes here a couple weeks back!! Okay, not as cool as your European weather but still, flash floods, tornadoes, panicking So Cal people....
